When ardent fans take a $30 coffee maker invented in a garage and turn it into a worldwide phenomenon with its own annual competition — that’s a story. Inventor and engineer Alan Adler created the AeroPress. He simply wanted to find a better way to make a single cup of coffee. His invention found a following among coffee lovers around the globe, who host competitions to see who can use the AeroPress to brew the best cup of joe.
