In April 2011, my husband and I quit our jobs, moved everything we had worth keeping into a small corner of my parent’s basement, took our life savings and as many clothes as we could fit into army surplus duffel bags, and jumped on an overnight flight headed for São Paulo, Brazil. Over the next 14 months, we traveled to 30 countries, visiting 73 cities and 47 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. We took overnight planes, trains, boats and buses and walked almost 100,000 miles. We relocated campervans in Australia and camped for a month across Africa. The only continent we didn’t hit was Antarctica.
When we weren’t on the move, we worked to document our adventures through blog posts, video and photography. Here’s a selection of some of the best stories from that trip. I produced, shot and edited all the video in this section and authored all the blog posts. You can read all the reports from our adventure at life-offtrack.com and watch more videos here.
