O Canta Galo?
O canta galo is Portuguese for the rooster sings…mostly.
I took a little poetic license on the word order based on the name of a metro station in Rio de Janeiro called Cantagalo, the place we first heard the phrase, and the way it rolls off the tongue in English.
It’s a name my husband and I took for our adventure.
It’s reminiscent of an extraordinary birthday gesture and a friend’s hilarious tale of mistaken identity. Both stories are full of color and spark my imagination. Both involve people in chicken suits.
It’s not meant to be taken literally. I do not think I am a rooster. I probably shouldn’t sing and I don’t speak Portuguese.
It has nothing to do with “my brand.”
I just wanted a name with rich, personal significance to display my most inspired work.
